I need a good Western film to watch this year, and Netflix may probably have one to watch out for. Announced in 2019, the streaming platform will be premiering “The Harder They Fall” a Black Western film in the Fall of this year and it’s lined up with a talent such as Idris Alba, Regina King, Delroy Lindo, and Jonathan Majors. Jay-Z will be writing the original music for the film as well as being a producer.

The story is about when outlaw Nat Love, played by Jonathan Majors finds out that Rufus Buck (Idris Elba) is released from prison, he sets to track him down and seek revenge, rounding up his gang to conduct pursuit. Rufus Buck has a formidable crew backing him up and this might turn up to be a good showdown which I hope follows that epic shootout Gunfight at the O.K. Corral depicted in the film “Wyatt Earp” of Kevin Costner.

This marks a reunion for Majors and Delroy Lindo, who played father and son in the acclaimed “Da 5 Bloods” of Spike Lee. Also joining the cast are are Damon Wayans Jr., Danielle Deadwyler, Edi Gathegi, R.J. Cyler, and Deon Cole.

Jeymes Samuel of “Bullitts” will be making his directorial debut and he has worked with Jay-Z “The Great Gatsby” soundtrack so this means that they will be collaborating again for the soundtrack of this Western.

Western are probably not on top of the list of shooter movies for airsofters but with there is no lack of airsoft guns for some airsoft shootout, western-style. Optimus Prime mentions of the Saloon at the old XSite in High Wycombe where they did hold some Western-themed airsoft events. I miss going to those types of games but with the airsofters around these days more obsessed with gizmos that they can mount on their rifles, they’ll just remain in my memories.
