"The HK G11 is one of the craziest guns of all time, but in many ways far more practical than how we think of it.  We think of the G11 as the HK German space gun.  But the reality is it was part of the ACR program here in the US  (Advanced Combat Rifle).  It fired a 4.7mm case-less ammunition and had a hyper fire mode that would shoot a 3 round burst at 2000 rounds per minute.
