Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc., a leading firearm manufacturer which has licensed its products for the airsoft market, has announced the release of the M&P15 Sport III rifle, an upgrade to their popular Sport II model. This semi-automatic rifle chambered in 5.56 NATO/.223 Remington boasts several enhancements aimed at improving performance and versatility.

The M&P15 Sport III features a 16-inch, Armornite-coated barrel for better corrosion resistance. The threaded muzzle allows for the attachment of suppressors or other muzzle devices, while the 5R rifling and 1:8 twist rate enhance accuracy and broaden ammunition compatibility.

A key upgrade is the free-floating M-LOK handguard replacing the standard polymer handguard of the Sport II. This handguard provides a full-length Picatinny rail for sights and multiple slots for attaching accessories like lights, lasers, and grips, improving customization and user experience.

Another improvement is the mid-length gas system, which reduces felt recoil and wear compared to the carbine-length system of its predecessor. This translates to a more comfortable shooting experience and increased durability. The rifle also comes with an adjustable stock, polymer grip, and a chrome-plated firing pin.

Designed for various uses, including hunting, target shooting, and home defence, the M&P15 Sport III offers reliability and affordability. With a starting MSRP of $799, it's now available at authorized dealers nationwide.
