Does military fashion have an impact on high fashion? You bet. We are all aware that any military R&D project will always find its way into the consumer market, automotives, food tech, and consumer electronics. Though we have taken for granted some of the clothing that wear, from shirts, jackets, to that bag that we carry, there is always a great chance that some of these take their inspiration from military fashion.
In our previous feature story, we have written about Cybergun's plans to acquire airsoft and or paintball sites in the USA as part of their expansion given that the USA is their biggest market as based on the report from Thumpy's 3-D House of Airsoft. These sites shall be remodelled with video game themes of game titles that are under the company. So how will this concept be rolled out.
After the excitement of over the reports from the Airsoft Media of the IWA 2012 & Outdoor Classics has died down, I went over again the photos that were submitted by Dom when he covered the event for Popular Airsoft. The airsoft industry really have provided us some new technology to make airsoft more fun than ever, with the MIT technology from G&G, the Airsoft Systems ASAR, the ASG CZ Scorpion 3 A1, two M1 Garand versions, the Real Sword SVD GBB, and much more.
One of the more overlooked items in rifle development is the fire selector switch and it's high time that it better be given attention that it should get. Your rifle will be totally useless without it, and making it an even more effective one, much more make it better looking should be a part of your list when you personalise your own rifle.
The war on airsoft just never ends, and this time, two new fronts in the USA have opened and the airsoft communities around the States will have to divide their attention on these two developments. If these became actual laws, then airsoft gets crippled in these states. So if you think that the last round of failed proposed legislation are the last of it, think again. As long as there are some legislators who do not actually understand airsoft and lumping it as a deadly firearm, then bills to regulate them hard or ban them will just appear.
This is one hobby that I want to get into, but then I don't have the time, money, and skills to make one that can duke it out with the best of them in robot wars. With this, I have to content myself watching videos of these robots, and it's fun to watch. Also at the same time, I marvel on how these types of games also help in the development of mechanized assistants that we will soon encounter in the future, however far in the future these may appear.
While I wasn't able to cover much of the tactical gear and real steel companies during the IWA 2012 & Outdoor Classics, I was able to take some passing snapshots while on my way to the airsoft vendors. It would be such a shame if these photos are not shared with you and even if they're not the best of photos taken during the show, at least I can show you what I've seen with my own two eyes on why you should be at the IWA for next year.
This is my final report on the IWA 2012 & Outdoor Classics, going back to some products of airsoft companies that I made a short mention in the previous days' reports and also some companies that were not mentioned and deserved to be discussed here. Every year, the event is bigger than ever, and it's really hard to cover them all, even the airsoft area if already big enough that I wasn't able to cover the tactical gear and other interesting real steel companies.
For video game players and airsoft players, this is now their chance to get those Medal of Honor Warfighter Patches. Medal of Honor have asked London Bridge Trading (LBT) to be their authentic source for the patches of the units that were featured in the MOH 2010 video game: Neptune, Wolfpack, Ranger and Gunfighter.
(UPDATED with videos 2032H GMT 12.03.2012) More on what transpired on my coverage of the third day of the IWA 2012 & Outdoor Classics. This was the first time that Gunfire was present at the IWA and with them they brought a number of goodies. For AK lovers they had the Cyma RPKM now with folding stock and the Beryl AEG, which is made by Ares and Fabryka Broni Radom a Polish gun maker.
