British Man Makes Assassin's Creed Rope Launcher & Hidden Blade

OptimusPrime

Looks like that in recent days, we get to hear news about devices either seen movies and video games now getting into the real world.  Today, it's the Assassin's Creed main weapons that are now brought into the real world and they do look awesome. But in terms of practicality, looks like they might not be the tools that you want use in real life if you think being an assassin is a smart career move.

Colin Furze, the Briton known for turning some of the fictional weapons in to real, such as t X-Men Wolverine's Claws, now made the Rope Launcher and Hidden Blade used by Jacob Frye, the main character in Assassin's Creed, to move fast rooftops and buildings in Victorian London. As part of the promotion for Ubisoft, he built the Rope Launcher Gauntlet which uses a CO2 cartridge as propellant to power the hook and line and a small motorised winch to haul him up.

Here is the video demonstration of the Rope Launcher (and also the Hidden Blade):

Now, one thing that we were expecting is that the winch is snappy just like in the video game. But of course, it's still the real world, and we know that winches are not fast or else you'll have burn-out motors. If you're an assassin in a hurry to cut-off your target's escape and getting away from the scene quickly, the Rope Launcher may not really your quick get-away tool. But for a stealthy way of getting into position, it just might do the job.

The Hidden Blade made by Colin Furze looks cool, but I have to honestly say that I cringed when the blade appeared. I don't know if it's a real metal and sharp blade, just one wrong move of the left hand looks like finger or two might just fly away. I'd rather than have a short sword or a knife in a scabbard than this.

As to how he made Rope Launcher, here are two videos. Better subscribe to Furze's YouTube Channel as the Hidden Blade video will  be posted later this week.
