WebSighting: Hostile Operations Team (H.O.T.)

Gungho Cowboy

Here I go again with my brazen and unshameful tactic of copying team sites. But my job's getting a little bit harder as some of the great team sites I have seen online are not written in the English language. No amount of Babel fish translation can help me out with proper translation and almost everything comes out gibberish. Though I get lucky here and there, sometimes.  I need help in translation in some sites, if there are any volunteers, please do give me a message here.

I found a simple looking airsoft team site, well written in English. The Hostile Operations Team (H.O.T.) which is based in Portugal (and luckily they write great English) is one of the best known airsoft teams in that country. Established in 2003, it is the result of a merger of two airsoft teams, that may have, well, found that working together as one works better for Portuguese airsoft.

Hot or not? This is what they have to say about themselves:

This team was founded in the beginning of 2003 with the union of two teams with the same interests in airsoft.

We prefer to play Milsim based operations as they become more of a chalenge and give us more adrenaline with their realistic missions and objectives. And that's why we have been training since then to improve our performance and tactics to provide more realism to our sport.

In the last years we became one of the oldest team's in Portugal and an example of honor, respect and friendship between the growing community. Our team is most of all a group of friends with such a great union that made us one of the more organized and reliable teams in the field. The team leaders are experiencied in tactical procedures and military discipline and have all the trust and respect of all the operators in their decisions.

The HOT are known for their dynamic and strong attitude towards airsoft and for their dedication to the community and its members with the organization of quality operations dedicated to a realistic type of airsoft based on milsim while maintaining the fun and healthy relationship between the players of both teams.

History

The HOT were founded in the beginning of 2003 from the fusion of two teams: SAT (Setúbal Airsoft Team) and DELTA 6. The founding members felt the need to create a more coherent team with a dynamic and strong attitude towards airsoft.

The name HOT first appeared after a meeting at an airsoft game in Setúbal. Several names came up but in the end HOT was the chosen one. This name, Hostile Operations Team - HOT, represents the main thrust of all members - accomplish all missions no matter how hostile the conditions can be.

HOT has grown since it's creation. With an organized recruit based on honor and friendship, each new member is welcomed by the operators and included in the team to feel a part of HOT and learn the teams ways.

Our team is most of all a group of friends with a great union that made us one of the more organized and reliable teams in the field. In the last years we became an example of honor, respect and friendship between the growing community.

We are proud to be a respected team and will always try to be an example of honor to the recently created teams as they do need the support of all the oldest players, to keep the idea of what airsoft is really all about.

Some may think we want to be the best and take this sport too serious but the truth is that we simply don't care if we always win... it just turns out that way. The only thing we trully want is to give our best and that is why we keep training so hard.

The team leaders are experiencied in tactical procedures and military discipline and have all the trust and respect of all the operators in their decisions. Each HOT operator has the specific training and equipment to improve his performance and successlly complete his misson.

The team is divided in two squads with leader, sub-leader, recon, pointman, rifleman, suppressor, sniper and spec-ops trained operators so that each of them perform his designated task in order to maintain the necessary teamplay and organization to complete the teams objectives.

We prefer to play Milsim based operations as they become more of a chalenge and give us more adrenaline with its realistic missions and objectives. And that's why we have been training to improve our performance and tactics to provide more realism to our sport.
