The Tier 1 Operators Are Back In Medal Of Honor: Warfighter

Logan

Medal of Honor Tier 1 defined the first person shooter in a contemporary setting, and it's one of the better developed plots among first person shooters nowadays. With the unveiling of Medal of Honor: Warfighter which is set to be released in October 2012, the game tries to put a more human side in the story to an already rivetting plot.

The Tier 1 Operators expand their operations beyond Afghanistan, going for the enermies in Basilan, Philippines, to Somalia. It also shows the story of "Preacher" which is the struggle of a Tier 1 Operator to get back into normal life with family and friends, only to be put back into action when an explosion rips into their civilian lives.

The story gives a perspective on how these operators are seen by military families and by the Operators. This is an interesting development as I am looking forward on how the game developers will be able to integrate this into the first person shooter game in which players just wanted to shoot immediately.

As reported by The Verge:

"From recent news headlines to movies to best-selling books, everyone is talking about the Special Operations Community and the warriors who defend our freedom. Medal of Honor Warfighter gives these Operators a chance to tell their personal story of brotherhood, family and the current fight," said Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer, Medal of Honor. "But Tier 1 Operators are not uniquely American. This year we're going global and introducing international Tier 1 units in our multiplayer game and taking players to hotspots around the world. We continue to honor these warriors with reverence and respect with an authentic look into their lives at home and abroad."

With the controversy of the previous game about the Taliban shooting US soldiers, the game developers decided to side step the issue by creating factions and allowing engagements among these as there will be different Tie 1 Units from various countries such as the British SAS, Australian SASR, German KSK and Polish GROM.

As always, airsoft players and the general geardo community will try to figure out the loadout used by the Tier 1 Operators in the latest title, just like they do whenever games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield come out with their latest releases. This time, Off Duty Gamers decided to go ahead and used the available wallpaper to breakdown the gear and weapons accessories as shown below:

Medal of Honor: Warfighter will use the Frostbite Game engine that was used by Battlefield 3. There will be a Limited Edition version for those who are going to pre-order the game. This is a downloadable Navy SEAL Tier 1 Sniper unlock which will take about 40 hours of game play for those who will get the standard edition.

The game's stated release date will be on the 23rd of October.
