A Dose of Plastic: YouTube Hates Airsoft

OptimusPrime

A Dose of Plastic talks about YouTube "hating airsoft" though this video is more about a Krytac CRB Gameplay. You can read further on the video's description... "Gameplay: Short Montage, a couple of nice streaks with the CRB, enjoy. (Krytac CRB, GoPro Hero4 Black 1080/30fps).

Why does Youtube Hate Airsoft? A couple of the larger channels have touched on the topic, and it doesn't look like the problem is going away anytime soon. In layman's terms: As a business, Youtube gets  money via ad revenue from other business who want to display ads on videos. Recently those other businesses have started to pull ads, when it came to light those ads were being seen on extremist, racist or videos a company wouldn't want to be associated with. In response to try to keep it's revenue, YouTube came up with guards to prevent ads from being played on channels and videos they deemed "undesirable" These channels unfortunately included anything to do with guns (controversial in of itself) along with airsoft channels. With a lack of ads playing, larger airsoft channels that use ad revenue to supplement actual income or funds for creating conduct will take a hit. We could see less videos or channels ending all together, all because YouTube hasn't figured out which companies want to be featured on videos or not. Hopefully the problem gets resolved, perhaps where algorithms already in place connect ads with target audiences."
