Mario Goes To War In Beat Down Boogie's Latest Project

Gungho Cowboy

Well, that was a busy week for the rest of the guys and for our readers. It seems also that Optimus Prime is having a hectic schedule for the next months with some upcoming projects for Popular Airsoft readers which will start next month and he's having a hard time juggling his time with some airsoft events that he's not sure he can attend, so if you want to help him out, drop him a note.

I will make this story light for this weekend since most of you will be out for your airsoft dates with your buddies at some skirmish site somewhere in the world. For those who have been following Beat Down Boogie and let down as their Modern War Gear Solid series have ended (you can still buy the DVD to keep as a souvenir), they are now working on their new project which they started right after DRAGON*CON 2011. This time, they take in the world's most famous video game character (not even Ghost or Solid Snake are this famous) Mario, of the Super Mario Bros., the best selling video game of all time until it got dethroned by the Nintendo Wii Sports. All of the games in the Mario Bros. series combined make it the best selling video game series.

The trailer below shows Mario gearing up for war with an assault rifle, and it seems his girlfriend was kidnapped. I wonder who the girlfriend here this time if it's Pauline or Princess Daisy. This wasn't resolved really, since Princess Daisy replaced Pauline after the Donkey Kong video game and the Mario Bros/Super Mario Bros started.

It's of no surprise that the guns to be used in the project are airsoft guns. Just like in the Modern War Gear Solid, eHobby Asia donated airsoft guns to be used as props. Here's what the Mario Warfare armoury looks like and which airsoft guns go to the good and bad guys, stay tuned and below it is another sneak peek for the fight scenes. Apart from the airsoft guns, the plunger might be put to good use too. I wonder who Luigi be?

Guns, fight scenes, damsel in distress, a video game character --- these seem like good ingredients for another fun indie movie. I can't wait for the first episode of Mario Warfare posted at YouTube.

Will it be better than Modern War Gear Solid? I don't know, so let's wait until the the episodes get online.
