Magpul Dresses Up The Remington 870

Dom

As its first salvo for the year 2012, Magpul has eyed the Remington 870 Shotgun to create their own design at improving the handling of the shotgun, and making it look good at the same time. Magpul is drawing from its core competency of designing products for firearms, and thus designing for the Remington 870 Shotgun is just a natural course in their business:

SGA™ Stock

This stock for Remington 870 is well-thought out, as it it can be configured by the shooter. The improved ergonomics at the grip area, a spacer system for length of pull adjustment, and a recoil-reducing butt pad will be welcome improvements to 870 users. Optional add-on is a cheek riser for use on raised optics.

MOE® Forend

Magpul continues the MOE tradition with this MOE forend that is unmistakebly a part of the MOE family. It replaces the standard 870 12 guage pump with extended length, front/rear handstops. With MOE rails, accessories can easily be mounted on the shotgun.

The details are still pretty hazy yet as these will be most likely timed for the Shot Show 2012.

The good thing for those who want this for airsoft is that there are already airsoft versions available, making it easier for Magpul PTS to release airsoft versions. The question is which model of among the brands making the M870 airsoft replica will be used as a standard. Will it be Maruzen? Tanaka? Our guess is as good as yours, it's just a matter of when Magpul PTS will release these for the airsoft market.
