Get To Know More About The CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1

One thing that we can say when we posted reports sent in by the Airsoft Media during the Shot Show 2012 was the information overload that mere mortals like us would have a hard time digesting in our minds in one go. Sometimes, the best thing for us is to slow down, and take a hard look at some of the products that will soon be coming out with their own airsoft versions. In this case, we take a look at the CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 Submachine Gun.

While Action Sports Games will soon be coming out with the airsoft version when they unveiled at its world premiere during the Shot Show 2012, it's always recommended that airsoft players learn more about the real steel version where it takes its inspiration from. This way, appreciation of the firearm, in its real steel and airsoft versions, is even better.

The Česká Zbrojovka Scorpio EVO 3 A1, according to World Guns, traces its development in 2002 in Slovakia, initiall called the Laugo SMG/PDW. During the phases of its development, it was sold to Česká Zbrojovka Brod and eventially called as the Skorpion EVO 3 in 2009. They called it a cal. 9x19 all-purpose, light automatic small arm.

While the military/law enforcement version has 30-round magazine capacity, the civilian version, which will soon be available in the US this year, has a 20-round capacity. The standard version sports a folding stock, that when folded, you can shoot free hand, just like you do with the Heckler & Koch MP5K PDW. This makes it a very viable alternative for Close Quarters Combat (CQB) and Personal Security Detail (PSD). It is easily concealable with a long coat, and when the stock is not folded, it has an overall length of 660mm (440mm when folded).

Česká Zbrojovka claims that this weapon has a good balance for quick aiming, high ROF, and reliabile in various combat conditions. It has an effective range of 250 meters when fired from the shoulder, or 50 meters free hand. It is fully ambidextrous, allowing for left handed shooters to handle it with ease, and there is no need for tools when disassembling it for maintenance. It has a full length top rail to mount optics and other sighting accessories and has rails on both sides and bottom of the handguard area.

You will notice that this comes with a transparent magazine, the easier for you to know how much rounds left you have before making a magazine change. When ordered, this comes with a plastic case, two double-column magazines, sling, and cleaning kit.

The Action Sports Games CZ Scorpion EVO 3 A1 airsoft version does not come with transparent magazine when it was put on display during the Shot Show 2012. However, I can be wrong since it was display unit and the final version though it is said that it may be released next year, rather than 2012. It will fire at 330fps out of the box, and thus it is within the tolerable fps limits for CQB games.

Some of the features of the airsoft version is that it can shoot in single, automatic and 3-round bursts with its electronic trigger system. It has a built-in failure detection system which helps preventing damage to the AEG's gearbox in case it jams. Other cool features it will have is low battery detection, easy adjustment for left handed airsoft players, no dry-firing when magazine empties, and a realistic bolt-action system. For a small AEG, it packs a lot of features and sure is something to look forward to.
