Customise Your Nike Special Field Boots With NIKEiD

Gungho Cowboy

If you're a user of the Nike Special Field Boots as something to wear for tactical purposes or even for high street fashion, the good news for you is that you can make your own custom design of the footwear as it's now included in NIKEiD --- the customise it section from Nike. Previously it's more dedicated to other sneakers or products in the Nike shoe line-up.

The great thing about the NIKEiD online customisation service is it allows you to personalise your Nike SF Boots that is suited to your taste, especially if you want something that will be unique than the others (though we can't say "standout from the rest" which seems to be a phrase that defeats "stealth" for tactical purposes).

The service takes you around 6 steps. You can select either with standard designs as shown below or start with a blank slate to even further do some crazy designs.

What I did is start with blank:

Step 1: The Base. Choose the Material which is either Synthetic Suede or Full-Grain Leather. In this case I selected full-grain leather. From there, you can select the available colours which is either black or coyote brown. In this case, I selected Coyote Brown.

Step 2: The Quarter. There are more materials available here: Synthetic Suede, Full-Grain Leather, Canvas, or Camouflage Canvas. I chose Camouflage Canvas, and then was given a choice of colour patterns: Black Camo, Grey Camo, Desert Tan Camo, or Classic Olive Gramo. In this case is selected Desert Tan Camo.

Step 3: The Lace. This a simpler step as you will just need to select a lace colour: Black, Cool Grey, Coyote Brown, Desert Tan, or Classic Olive. To make it consistent with the desert tan idea I have in mind, I selected Desert Tan as lace. You can add a second lace free of charge, which I suggest you do.

Step 4: Eyelets. Another simple step as you will need to select among the following colours: Black, Desert Tan, Classic Olive, or Metallic Copper. I selected Metallic Copper so you will know which area I changed as shown in the screenshot below:

Step 5: Outsole. Just like Steps 3 and 4, just select your preferred colour for your outsole among the following: Black, Cool Grey, Desert Tan, or Classic Olive. In my case it's Desert Tan once again.

Step 6: Inside Lining iD. I love this part of the personalisation process as it allows you to put your name or whatever ID you want in the inside lining to ensure that nobody will mistake your boots for theirs. I played with putting "POPULAR" for the Right iD, and "AIRSOFT" for the LEFT ID and selected Cool Grey as the colour for the iD.

You can share your design for Social Media networks such as Facebook or Twitter, or just email your design to your friends. If you're brave enough, add your design to the NIKEiD Gallery. But for me, I created a poster and you can use it as a wallpaper for your desktop computer, for your iPad, iPhone, or Facebook account. You can select the views of the final custom footwear and even select the background for it.

If you're happy with the design, you can then add it to your shopping cart and calculated by the online system how much it would cost in this case it is £110. It will ask for sizing and gender, add £6.50 for delivery and the total is £116.50 (for UK Customers). If you're satisfied you can then checkout and pay via credit card or Paypal. It will take around 5 weeks or less before it gets delivered to you.

Well, I didn't continue with the purchase since I'm out of cash after the holidays and saving up for some important stuff. But if you want to give it a go, why not send to us your designs? It would be nice to publish them here.
