Wolverine Airsoft MTW Forged Series

HPA airsoft is here to stay and Wolverine Airsoft has committed itself to improving the company’s HPA airsoft offerings with the release of the MTW or the Modular Training Weapon, their first complete HPA airsoft gun. The release of the MTW was a successful one for Wolverine Airsoft and thus, they want to strike while the iron is hot.

Yes, literally, since they have forged additional three more types of MTWs which Wolverine Airsoft’s Rich Lort introduces in this video:

This is a good selection of MTWs depending on the preference of the airsoft player and Forged and Milspec new series have forged upper and lower receivers and the Billet is of course uses a Billet Upper Receiver due to requests of customers. They all sport different rails with the Forged MTW having the Invictus Advanced Rail; the Milspec MTW, the Invictus Quad Rail; and the Billet MTW the Invictus M-Lok.

For the business end of the MTW, they use different flash hiders: The Forged, Forged Series CNC Flash Hider; the Milspec, Milspec Series CNC Flash Hider; and the Billet, Plastic Orange Flash Hider. Please note that all these MTWs will be shipped with orange flash hiders with the Forged and Milspec MTWs coming with the extra flash hiders mentioned.

Internally, they also utilize different Wolverine Airsoft engines and electronics so you will need to check what they use before buying. The Forged MTW is equipped with the Inferno Gen 2 Engine and Gen 2 Premium Electronics. The Milspec MTW uses the Reaper M and got not electronics so it has mechanical trigger. The Billet MTW also uses the Inferno Gen 2 Engine and Spartan electronics.

For the hop-up units, the Forged and Milspec MTWs got the Invictus Phoenix Hop while the Billet MTW has a 2-piece rotary hop-up unit. Both the Forged and Milspec MTWs use the 2-Piece Feed Tube/Retention Clip while the Billet got the Standard Feed Tube and Retention Clip.

All three have different trigger sets: the Forge, CNC Adjustable Curved Trigger; the Milspec, Mechanical Trigger; and the Billet Diecast Adjustable Flat Trigger. Again for the selector switches, they got different switches: Forged, Forged Series Selector; Milspec, Milspec Series Selector; and the Billet, the Billet Series Selector.

The videos below explain further the differences between theses new MTWs:
