Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Gets Revealed At E3 2017

Logan

With the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017 (E3) airsoft players, many of whom are avid video gamers, are looking forward to what game developers and publishers will be offering to them. For airsofters, it is about more tactical shooter games. One of the most beloved FPS titles, Wolfenstein, is making good of its promise of releasing Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus this year after Bethesda showed a teaser at last year’s E3.

Bethesda showed the reveal trailer during the E3 press event their follow up Wolfenstein II: The New Order. As many of you already know, the game is set in an alternate world where the Nazi Germany won World War II and have occupied the USA. In the New Order, BJ Blazkowicz fought his way through the Nazi opposition and at the closing credits where he lay dying, he recited “The New Colosus” and now he is back in the year 1961, ready to do battle but first he has to help the resistance movement and spart the second American Revolution:

AMERICA, 1961

Your assassination of Nazi General Deathshead was a short-lived victory. Despite the setback, the Nazis maintain their stranglehold on the world. You are BJ Blazkowicz, aka “Terror-Billy,” member of the Resistance, scourge of the Nazi empire, and humanity’s last hope for liberty. Only you have the guts, guns, and gumption to return stateside, kill every Nazi in sight, and spark the second American Revolution.

Just like in any Wolfenstein game, since the release of Wolfenstein 3D in 1992, The New Colosus will still be a Nazi-killing galore and there will be lots to kiill in the game.  But there will be more devastating weapons and technology, with cyborgs and über soldiers that will try to ruin your day. With the heavy Nazi imagery, the game is banned in Germany as it is forbidden by German law so you might think twice in bringing the game when it gets released and play in Germany even if you will be just in town for a few days as seen at the end of the trailer’s description on YouTube:

Please be advised that the international (non-German language) versions of “Wolfenstein® 2: The New Colossus” (the “Game”) includes Nazi-related symbols and content – as a result, the sale, import, export, or distribution of the international versions of the Game and its related images and assets to and in Germany is strictly forbidden by German law, and would be, among other statutory violations, a criminal offence which may result in a financial penalty or imprisonment. Any person involved and/or responsible for such violation may be prosecuted and sentenced, including officers and employees of companies involved. On the basis of legal advice and industry standard practice, ZeniMax are also not making such images or assets available to Austria.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colosus is planned to be released on October 27, 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC.
