WebSighting: 1st S.W.O.R.D.

Gungho Cowboy

I'm back again with my WebsSighting series after almost three months of not looking around for airsoft team sites in the web. This time, I am unashameably copying from 1st Special Warfare Operations and Recon Detachment (1st S.W.O.R.D.) --- Team Sword is a group of MilSim event players, helping to promote Airsoft in the South Puget Sound region. Team Sword was formed in 2005 and has created a safe, organized, & fun environment where all Airsoft enthusiasts can get together and play.

Over the past 2 1/2 years, Team Sword has grown from a small group of friends, to a team that organizes games to where the average attendance is 50 Operators. Team Sword puts together Scenario/Objective based events & competes against other teams in the Pacific NW.

Team Sword takes an active role training players in the safe use of airsoft guns & Team tactics for competitive events. Team Sword's training is led by ex-Army Special Forces, Matt Lenn aka Duke. Matt served our country for 15 years in the U.S. Army, and is a Veteran of the first Gulf War. Team Sword has benefited greatly from the training Matt received as a Special Forces Operator.

Team Sword is geared towards the beginner, recreationalist, and Hard-core competitive player. But, if your the Intense "Forget the Rules" type of player, we're probably not for you.

Some of our fields have field fees & we have costs from liability insurance that we can no longer shoulder by ourselves. We try to keep the costs as low as we can, for everyone. We are a group of professional Operators who try to get together for Intense, Organized, Safe, & FUN MilSim.

Joining 1st S.W.O.R.D.

To start off, you don't have to be a member of 1st-Sword, to play with 1st-Sword. Our events are open to the airsoft community. Whether you have played for 7 years, or your just starting out, we want to see you out there. For some of us though, we want to be a part of something great, that's most likely why your on this page. To become a member of 1st-Sword requires a level of commitment, professional attitude, and dedication to the TEAM. We are looking for those who want to be a part of an organized professional team.

So what does it take to join 1st-Sword? There is a list of requirements that must be met before being considered for the Team.

  • You are required to attend a minimum of five, 1st-Sword or Seal Team Six events, to be considered for the team
  • You must own your own Quality AEG
  • You must be able to attend atleast one Regional event per year. ( Usually Boise, Idaho)
  • Each member is expected to manage their own budget for this sport. Your Weapon, Gear, Batteries, Bb's, Uniform, Transportation, etc. are all your responsibility.
  • 1st-Sword has Uniform requirements. 1st-Sword wears Marine MARPAT as it's primary uniform. The Team is in the process of deciding on a secondary uniform.
  • You must be atleast 18 years old, with your own transportation. This rule can be over ruled by a team vote if the Operator is strong in all the other requirements.
