The Tokyo Marui Festival 2024 opened its doors at its regular venue at the Bellesalle Akihabara last 9-10 November. The company welcome regular airsoft players as well as the curious onlookers wanting to know what is taking place inside and those who want to check what is airsoft for the first time.
For most of our readers at Popular Airsoft, it is about the new products that were announced at the venue. Tokyo Marui makes product announcements at three events each year with the Tokyo Marui Festival topping this off. It is where the company can be intimate with their customers, since it is about the company, its products, and people after all.
The festival catered to a wide audience, featuring both an "18 and over area" and an "all ages area." While the "18+ Area" was exclusively for those aged 18 and above, the "All Ages Area" offered a family-friendly experience. Attendees under 17 had to be accompanied by an adult and enter through the designated entrance.
The event spotlighted Tokyo Marui's cutting-edge airsoft guns, including exciting new product announcements and demonstrations. Visitors had the opportunity to witness live firing displays, participate in hands-on shooting sessions, and explore the latest technology firsthand.
Now, let's find out what these new products are:
The M1851 Navy Airsoft Revolver Pro
Series: Air Revolver Pro
Price: TBD
On-sale: TBD
Target age: over 10 years old
The M1851 Navy Air Revolver Pro is a unique and historically accurate airgun that replicates the iconic M1851 Navy revolver. This model is designed for enthusiasts aged 10 and older who appreciate the intricacies of black powder firearms. Unlike traditional airsoft guns, the M1851 Navy Air Revolver Pro requires a more involved loading process, mimicking the authentic experience of loading a percussion revolver.
A Realistic Loading Experience
To load this airsoft revolver, users must first half-cock the hammer to unlock the cylinder. Next, they'll need to operate the loading lever to prepare the cylinder for the bullet and percussion cap. Once the cap is securely placed on the nipple, the BB bullet can be loaded directly into the cylinder without the use of the loading lever. This step-by-step process offers a captivating and educational experience, allowing users to appreciate the historical significance of this firearm.
Authentic Details and Performance
The M1851 Navy Air Revolver Pro is meticulously crafted to replicate the original design, featuring an engraved naval picture on the cylinder. It can even be disassembled into three primary parts - barrel, cylinder, and frame - just like the real M1851. Additionally, the airsotft revolver includes a brass front sight and a rear sight that aligns with the hammer's notch when cocked. To ensure optimal performance, the airgun is equipped with a variable hop-up system that can be adjusted to accommodate different BB weights (0.12g and 0.2g).
The SG553 Plus
Series: AEG Plus
Price: TBD
On-sale: TBD
Target age: over 18 years old
The SG553 Plus is a new addition to the AEG Plus series, targeting airsoft enthusiasts over 18 years old. While the exact pricing and release date are yet to be announced, this AEG promises to offer a premium airsoft experience.
Key Features of the SG553 Plus
At its core, the SG553 Plus utilizes the AEG Standard Type SIG552 Seals mechanism, enhanced with the Plus System. This system allows for compatibility with both MS-Li-Po and NiMH Mini S batteries, offering flexibility in power options.
The AEG boasts a robust construction, with reinforced plastic used for the handguard and receiver. This design choice increases rigidity, ensuring durability during intense gameplay. The machined aluminum flash hider can be removed to accommodate a 14mm reverse thread muzzle option, allowing for customization and personalization.
Enhanced Performance and Precision
The SG553 Plus introduces a new front and rear sight system. The rear sight offers adjustable vertical positioning of the bullet impact, providing precise aiming capabilities. Additionally, the new follower design ensures that every BB round in the 40-round magazine is utilized, maximizing efficiency. Spare magazines will be available for purchase separately.
Hi-Capa 4.3 D.O.R Gas Blowback Pistol

Additionally, the pistol comes with a mounting base for the Micro Pro Sight, which also integrates a backup sight. The chassis features a Picatinny-standard underrail, allowing for the attachment of various accessories.
Ergonomic Design
The Hi-Capa 4.3 D.O.R is designed with ergonomics in mind. The grip has rounded corners for a comfortable and secure hold. A guarded thumb safety is included to prevent accidental activation and ensure safe handling.

These included the Electric Gun Pro "P-90 Plus Ver.LLENN", the Electric gun R series "AK47R", the Gas Blowback R Series "Hi-Capa DOR R", and the Optional parts "BB Autoloader". There was also a rubber gun on display, but it was noted that this product wouldn't be sold to the general public.
Visitors could also read the ongoing comic "Scavengers: Another Sky" next to the merchandise corner. This corner offered Tokyo Marui original goods, including new items available only at the event. However, these were limited in quantity and sales ended when the day's stock ran out.
A VR Survival Game Experience Corner allowed attendees to experience a 4 vs 4 battle in Tokyo Marui's official VR survival game field. There was also a photo booth featuring the "PRSV-02" PR vehicle, which had been specially customized with highly durable paint used on military vehicles.
The Airsoft Learning Corner offered an introduction to the basics of survival games, one of the most popular games. This corner received cooperation from manga artist Fredy Sakazaki and SG-FASHION-SNAP.COM.
The venue gathered works by popular illustrators. A specially created, extra-large original illustration of "Girls & Airsoft Guns ver.8" was exhibited all at once.
The illustrators who participated were: Uzaki Yuu, KWS, Dedo, Seven Six, and Hiroji Mishima.
Finally, an Exhibition and experience corner displayed a wide range of airsoft guns currently on sale. Visitors could not only see these guns but also touch and play with them, even operating their gimmicks. A special shooting range allowed attendees to try shooting with the electric gun "G36C Plus".
The event also featured a special stage by TKHero, a YouTuber and voice actor known for his videos on fast draw techniques. There was also an airsoft gun explanation by a big PR guy.
So this wraps up Tokyo Marui's product development roadmap for 2024 going into 2025. So far, there is no new MWS system AR-style rifle or an NGRS. Hopefully, we get to see another set of new generation airsoft guns as we greet 2025.
