Taurus TH45

Taurus has reinvented the classic hammer-fired semi-auto pistol with the TH series, which offers a polymer frame, a DA/SA trigger, and an innovative thumb safety/decocker. The TH series comes in full-size and compact models, and in 9mm and .40 S&W calibers. But now, Taurus has added a new member to the family: the TH45, a full-size pistol chambered in .45 ACP.

The TH45 is not just a scaled-up version of the existing TH pistols. It is a specially designed gun that can handle the powerful .45 ACP round, while maintaining the smooth and crisp trigger pull that the TH series is known for. The pistol also allows for different carry options, thanks to its thumb safety/decocker that can be used to carry the gun in single-action mode with the safety on.

The TH45 shares most of the features of its smaller siblings, such as the 4.25-inch barrel, the replaceable dovetail sights, and the accessory rail. The main difference is the magazine capacity, which is 13 rounds for the TH45, compared to 17 rounds for the 9mm TH and 15 rounds for the .40 S&W TH. The compact THC models have lower capacities of 12 rounds for 9mm and 10 rounds for .40 S&W.

The Taurus TH45 is a great option for those who want a full-size, hammer-fired semi-auto pistol in .45 ACP calibre. It combines the reliability and versatility of the TH series with the stopping power and accuracy of the .45 ACP round. The pistol comes with an MSRP of US$529.

The Taurus TH series is a modern take on a classic design, and it offers a lot of features and options for a reasonable price. Whether shooters choose the 9mm, .40 S&W or .45 ACP calibre, they can expect a reliable and versatile pistol that can serve them well for self-defence, target shooting or any other purpose.

Drop the Hammer with the New Taurus TH45

What’s the only way to improve on the best selling TH-series of Taurus pistols? Clearly, make it in a bigger caliber: announcing the Taurus TH45. This polymer framed, double-action/single-action semi-auto packs 13 rounds of 45 ACP into an easily controllable package for shooters who want a little more “oomph” in their defensive pistol.

The TH45 didn’t just take the existing TH-series and “make it bigger” though. Each action component was carefully thought out to take the increased punishment that a big bore cartridge like 45 ACP will deliver. This was done while preserving the smooth double action pull on the TH45, and still delivering a crisp, duty-ready single-action trigger. Plus, like all other TH-series pistols, the TH45 can be carried “cocked-and-locked” thanks to Taurus’ innovative thumb safety/decocker.

The Taurus TH45 is a semi-automatic, polymer framed handgun chambered in 45 ACP. It features a traditional double action trigger, meaning the first shot has a long, smooth trigger pull like a revolver. But all subsequent shots are in single action mode for fast, precise shooting. Its 13 round capacity makes it an excellent choice for personal protection, home defense, and competition shooting. Lastly, the new TH45 use industry standard sight dovetails so the sights can be easily swapped for different models.
