Springfield Armory has released a new 9mm version of their popular 1911 Operator pistol. This 1911 Operator 9mm version has everything you love about the original .45 ACP model. It has a Tactical Rack rear/tritium front sight set, rugged G10 VZ Grips, ambidextrous safety, two magazines with bumper pads that fit nine rounds each, forward slide serrations and more.

The Operator is a 1911 pistol that features a 5-inch, fully supported ramped match-grade barrel made of forged stainless steel. This barrel provides the best of both barrel life and accuracy, making it a great choice for both target shooting and self-defense. The Operator also has a traditional barrel bushing for easy and tool-free takedown, and a durable black Cerakote finish on its forged steel slide and frame. This finish protects the pistol from the elements and ensures a long service life. The frame also has a Picatinny accessory rail on the dustcover, which allows users to attach weapons accessories such as lights and lasers.

The gun has a silver skeletonized trigger that looks custom-made and has a smooth 4.5-lb. pull. You can also adjust the overtravel stop. The safety works on both sides, the hammer is skeletonized, the slide has serrations on the front and back which are smooth with no sharp edges, the sights have a tritium dot in front and white dots in the back, and the frame has a Picatinny rail strip on the dustcover.

The trigger guard has smooth bevels that fit your finger with gloves on and the accessory rail is built into the frame and ends at the middle of the frame, where it meets the flat side of the main frame body.

The frame features an integrated Picatinny accessory rail on the dustcover that allows users to equip the pistol with the light, laser or combo unit of their choice.
