Smith & Wesson announced yesterday the release of the new two-tone M&P 5.7 pistol. The pistol features a black slide and frame with a flat dark earth (FDE) grip. It is chambered in 5.7x28mm, and has a 22-round magazine capacity.

The M&P5.7 is a striker-fired pistol with a polymer frame and a stainless steel slide. It has a 5-inch barrel and a slim, optimally textured grip. The pistol also features a Picatinny rail for mounting accessories.

According to Smith & Wesson, the new M&P5.7 pistol is designed for self-defense, concealed carry, and competition shooting. It features a number of upgrades over the previous model, including a new gas-operated, locked-breech, Tempo Barrel System that is said to offer a more reliable, accurate, and consistent shooting experience.

The M&P5.7 also features a single-action flat-face trigger that is designed to provide a crisp break and consistent finger placement for more accurate shooting. The pistol also has a 22-round capacity, making it a capable choice for self-defense or competition.

Combining features of the tested M&P series with a new gas-operated, locked-breech, Tempo™ Barrel System, Smith & Wesson unveiled the M&P5.7 pistol aimed at offering a more reliable, accurate, and consistent shooting experience in a handgun platform for the increasingly popular 5.7x28mm caliber.
