SIG SAUER MCX SPEAR-LT Series

SIG Sauer’s MCX family is the linchpin of the firearms company as militaries and security organizations  move deeper into the 21st Century requiring weapons that have evolved from some of the workhorses of the late 20th Century and into the new millennium such as the AR platform. Indeed, such an investment into the MCX has turned into really big wins such as bagging the New Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) contract of the U.S. Army.

With such wins with the MCX, the company further expands into the civilian market offering a new MCX design which still utilizes the same old calibers that shooters are familiar with --- the MCX SPEAR-LT Series. Slimmed further to make it lightweight as compared to the MCX Virtus, the MCX SPEAR-LT is  short-stroke gas piston rifle that also allows civilian shooters to use the design that came from the NGSW MCX-SPEAR to shoot with 5.56 NATO, .300 Blackout and 7.62x39mm rounds.

The handguard of the MCX SPEAR-LT is lightened with attachment screws for additional rigidity and it also has a lightened profile barrel with improved accuracy. With the gun equipped with the SIG QD suppressor-ready flash hider it can be easily used suppressed.

SIG Sauer developed a new latch system the 7.62x39 MCX-SPEAR LT so it can handle the many different varieties of 7.62 caliber ammunition and still be able to maintain reliability and provide smooth shooting.

The Evolution of the SIG SAUER MCX: Introducing the MCX-SPEAR-LT
