The Rossi single-shot Lightweight Carbine (LWC), a platform known for its inherent simplicity and dependable performance, has gotten an update with the 2025 model with the introduction of the new folding stock variant. This latest iteration builds upon the established strengths of the original LWC, a break-action, single-shot rifle favoured for its precision and efficient operation, while incorporating modern features that directly address the evolving needs of contemporary shooters. The new variant makes the rifle more portable as it allows for convenient storage and transport.
The Rossi 2025 LWC folding stock edition is offered in two popular and versatile calibers: the .300 Blackout and the 5.56 NATO. The .300 Blackout variant features a 16.5-inch barrel with a rifling twist rate of 1:8-inch, optimized for stabilizing a wide range of subsonic and supersonic projectiles. Similarly, the 5.56 NATO version also incorporates a 16.5-inch barrel, but with a faster 1:7-inch twist rate, ideally suited for stabilizing the longer and heavier bullets commonly associated with this calibre. Both barrel configurations are engineered to deliver consistent ballistic performance and reliable accuracy across their respective applications.

The newly engineered folding stock itself features a minimalist, skeletonized design philosophy, carefully crafted to maximize the rifle's portability without compromising its structural integrity or long-term durability. Constructed from robust materials selected to withstand the rigors of real-world use in various shooting environments, the stock provides a stable and reliable interface for the shooter. Its deployment and locking mechanism are designed for ease of use and secure engagement, ensuring consistent stability when the rifle is shouldered and ready for firing.

Existing LWC owners need not worry about their rifles as Rossi has also made the folding stock as a standalone accessory for them to purchase. This thoughtful provision allows individuals who already possess an LWC, regardless of its specific calibre, the opportunity to upgrade their existing rifle and directly benefit from the enhanced portability and convenience afforded by the new stock design.
Further enhancing the functionality and adaptability of the LWC folding stock edition are several standard features designed to meet the demands of modern shooting practices. These include a threaded barrel, allowing for the easy attachment of suppressors or other muzzle devices, and a Picatinny top rail, providing a standardized platform for the secure mounting of a wide array of optical sighting systems.

The physical dimensions and weight of the LWC folding stock edition emphasize the focus on portability and ease of handling. When the folding stock is fully extended, the rifle measures a compact 31.5 inches in overall length. Moreover, with an approximate weight of just 5.25 pounds, the LWC remains a lightweight and manageable firearm, particularly appealing to shooters who prioritize ease of transport and comfortable handling in various shooting scenarios, from extended treks in the field to dynamic range activities.
With the LWC updated a folding stock it has enhanced the firearm's portability and storage capabilities. This addition builds upon the established reliability and accuracy of the original LWC design. The integration of the folding stock aims to address the need for a more compact and adaptable platform in contemporary shooting applications. Rossi has hit the target with this update.
