There are times that we get vehicle crazy here on Popular Airsoft as we find some military vehicles that can be replicated for airsoft use or just something that we want to admire. In the recent Eurosatory 2022 in Paris, there is one vehicle that we actually want to ride, the WILDER from Plasan.

You can call it to be a souped-up armoured golf cart or dune buggy, but it looks like fun riding it as it can be seen closer to the design of racing vehicles that we see in the famous Dakar Rally Series. The WILDER was designed inspired by the Dakar Rally Cars according to Nir Khan, who is the the Director of the Israel-based company, as reported by The Drive.

The All-wheel drive WILDER can accommodate up to four people in a diamond-shape arrangement, with the driver right in the middle of the vehicle. It uses a kitted hull rather than tube frames seen in rally cars and the central structure of the Wilder is an armored safety cell, equipped with front and rear subframes, and the crew compartment has Stanag 4569 Level 2 of protection, which can protect the crew inside from rounds up to 7.62mm.

The power plant is a 159bhp 2.8-litre Cummins turbodiesel engine, and the gearbox is a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox. It has a top speed of 75mph and weighs at 3.7 tonnes which makes it light enough to be carried by a Chinook chopper and be immediately put to good use upon delivery.

In the rear, there is flat bed for cargo and extra gear, but it is also designed to work with Plasan’s All Terrain Electric Mission Module (ATEMM), a connected and synchronized auto-controlled electric powered platform. This is a two-wheeled trailer that has 37kWh Li-Iron Battery Pack that can be charged with generators when if it is off the power grid with 11kW charge capability, and the regenerative braking/coast regen behind the host vehicle which has a 15 kW charge capability. As it is modular, it can be reconfigured for the requirements of the mission. Adding more ATEMM modules gives more capacity and capability to the WILDER from a four-wheeled light armoured vehicle to a even an 8-wheeler with two ATEMMS trailing it.

What’s even more attractive is that the WILDER is also planned to be remotely controlled. It can be used to pick up the crew or use it positioned somewhere equipped with its own weapon to provide cover without endangering the crew.

Plasan already go some interested parties though there is no mention of names of potential customers. The company is offering the WILDER as as a turnkey product or in kit form for local assembly by vehicle manufacturers around the world.
