Stupid Airsoft Hera CQR Gen 2 Front Grip Mod

A tutorial by Stupid Airsoft demonstrates the process of modifying a Hera CQR Gen 2 front grip for use on an airsoft rifle. He focuses on changing the color of the grip from its original shade to black using a dyeing method instead of spray paint. This approach is chosen to prevent the color from wearing off in high-friction areas during use. This process involves submerging the grip in a mixture of boiling and hot tap water combined with black dye, then weighing it down with a brick for approximately one hour.

Following the dyeing process, the next step is the installation of the grip onto a Double Eagle Noveske N4 airsoft rifle. Because the rifle’s handguard lacks a built-in lower rail, Stupid Airsoft installs two small M-LOK rail segments to provide a mounting surface. The installation requires specific hardware, including screws and nuts, to secure the rail segments before sliding the CQR Gen 2 grip into position.

Upon completing the installation, he assesses the ergonomics and aesthetic integration of the new foregrip. While noting that the grip feels comfortable in hand, Stupid Airsoft in uncertain about the grip's appearance on this specific rifle model, specifically citing the gap between the grip and the receiver as a point of contention.
