Springfield Armory Model 2020 Heatseeker

The shooting world has a new rifle for precision and adaptability with the release of the Springfield Armory Model 2020 Heatseeker. This bolt-action rifle aims to bridge the gap between traditional accuracy and modern AR-style modularity, offering shooters a versatile platform for a variety of applications. Building on the established reputation of the Model 2020 series, the Heatseeker promises enhanced performance and customization.

Central to the Heatseeker's design is the Sharps Bros. Heatseeker chassis, made from 6061-T6 billet aluminum. This robust yet lightweight construction contributes to the rifle’s compact and maneuverable profile. This also ensures durability while keeping the overall weight manageable, a critical factor for both demanding hunting expeditions and dynamic tactical scenarios where agility is important.

Further enhancing its performance capabilities is the rifle’s carbon fiber barrel that contributes to the Heatseeker's overall low weight and maintaining consistent accuracy. The barrel is also factory-threaded (5/8x24), making it immediately suppressor-ready and allowing users to easily attach a preferred muzzle device, thus adapting the rifle for various shooting environments, from the quiet confines of a shooting range to the open expanse of hunting grounds.

The Heatseeker is a modular rifle with its 14-inch free-float handguard. Weighing a mere 10 ounces, this handguard is equipped with M-Lok attachment points on all four sides, offering ample space for customization. Shooters can readily affix accessories such as bipods, tactical lights, or supplementary grips to suit their individual needs and shooting styles. Additionally, the inclusion of dual QD sling mounts provides flexible carrying options, enhancing the rifle's practical utility in the field.

Springfield Armory has integrated an AR-style buffer tube extension into the Heatseeker, granting users the freedom to mount a wide array of AR-pattern stocks. The rifle ships standard with a B5 Systems Collapsible Precision Stock (CPS), which is adjustable in both length of pull and cheek height allowing shooters to find the comfort when handling the rifle.

Springfield Armory stands behind the rifle's accuracy, guaranteeing a tight 0.75 MOA (Minute of Angle), a level of precision highly sought after for long-range engagements and competitive shooting.

Further extending its modularity, the Heatseeker is designed to accept AR-pattern pistol grips, enabling shooters to tailor their grip preference for optimal comfort and control. It comes standard with a B5 Systems P-Grip 23 and a durable metal five-round AICS-pattern magazine. These components underscore the rifle’s commitment to adaptability, ensuring it can be configured to meet a wide array of shooting disciplines and personal requirements.
