The 1st Arthur "Toto" Defensor Jr.. PPSA Action Air Level 3 World Shoot Qualifier Match held in Iloilo City , Philippines was a significant event in the world of practical shooting as it provides a window into the preparations for the 2nd Action Air World Shoot that will be held next year in the same city This competition, named after Governor Arthur "Toto" Defensor Jr. of the Province of Iloilo, brought together some of the best shooters from the Philippines and the region.

The match was organized by the Philippine Practical Shooting Association (PPSA) with Alex Cruz being the PPSA Action Air Chairperson and served as a qualifier for the prestigious World Shoot event, making it a crucial steppingstone for competitors aiming to highlight their skills on an international stage.

The local hosts, Iloilo Gun Club Inc and EWOK's Airsoft Station PH led by Joel Penafiel, with the support of the city’s commercial and business established, ensured that for two days, all participating shooters and officials get to have one of the best competitive action air shooting experiences in 2024.

Held at the Iloilo Sports Complex Gymnasium, the event featured a variety of challenging stages designed to test the participants' accuracy, speed, and tactical abilities. The match included 12 stages, each with its unique set of obstacles and targets, requiring shooters to demonstrate their proficiency in handling different scenarios. The competition was fierce, with participants pushing their limits to secure a spot in the World Shoot.

One of the highlights of the event was the participation of top-tier shooters from other countries, adding an international flavor to the competition. This not only elevated the level of competition but also provided an opportunity for local shooters to learn from and compete against some of the best in the world. The camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed throughout the event were commendable, reflecting the true spirit of practical shooting.

The Range Officers night welcomed newly promoted ROs as well as a night of camaraderie and fun as they partook in the local cuisine as Iloilo is the best for culinary experience amongst Filipinos.

The organizers ensured that the event was conducted smoothly and safely, adhering to international standards and protocols. Safety officers and range officials were present at all stages to oversee the competition and ensure that all participants followed the rules and regulations. This emphasis on safety was crucial in maintaining the integrity of the sport and ensuring fair competition.
