In preparation for the SHOT Show 2023 FN America two new handguns that will be on display during the trade event that will take place in Las Vegas next week. One of these is the FN 545 Tactical:
Leave nothing to chance with 18+1 rounds, setting a new standard capacity in .45 ACP. Suppressor-ready, with a threaded barrel and co-witness tritium night sights, this industry-first pistol is upgraded with the proven ergonomics of the FN 509® Tactical. Shooters can mount their favorite red dot optic in minutes, adding pinpoint control on command. Complete with the high-endurance striker and crisp, approximately 6lb. trigger pull, the FN 545 Tactical is what other big bore pistols want to be when they grow up.
Suppressor and optics ready the FN 545 has the standard features of the striker-fired FN 509 pistol. It has tritium inserts in the suppressor-height 3-dot night sights co-witness with most MRDs. Most MRDs can be mounted on the FN’s patented Low-Profile Optics Mounting System, allowing for faster target acquisition.

It has three magazine options, an 18+1, 15+1 and 10+1 with the last ideal for concealed carry. Steel body magazines are nickel-coated to protect from corrosion and as the company says, are made for lightning-fast reloads.

The company claims that the FN 545 Tactical is made for down range accuracy with the a precision-tuned fire control group, the smooth trigger take-up, positive wall and clean, ≈6-pound break which they say sets a new standard in striker-fired big bores using the 4.71-inch cold hammer-forged, target crowned barrel for accuracy. With the .45 round, the control of the recoil is done with the design features of enhanced grip texturing, interchangeable backstraps and slide serrations. To operate, it has fully ambidextrous slide stop leve and magazine release.
When purchased, the FN 545 Tactical comes with interchangeable backstraps; one 18-round and 15-round magazines or two 10-ronds magazines; four MRD mounting plates; owner’s manual, locking device; and a premium zippered case. Price is US$1,139.00 and is available for commercial, military and law enforcement.
