As we continue to monitor the progress of California Senate Bill 798,  the latest update is that it has went to third reading at the State Assembly last August 18, with the Assembly re-referring it the Committe on Public Safety pursuant to Assembly Rule 77.2 which is a rule of Substantially Amended Bills:

Somali pirates are getting bolder as they operate further from their shores. Their former playground in the Gulf of Aden is also getting crowded with naval ships from different countries and they have expanded their scope with an even daring capture of another ship in the port of Oman, almost near the mouth of the Persian Gulf where most of the world's oil supply pass through.

The consequence for doing that would be life threatening. If you will consider this a lecture, then so be it. If you flaunt airsoft guns and much more together with real steel ones, then it's going to be an accident waiting to happen. Just like what happened to this young man who thought he can impress a girl with his guns. The problem with guns is that they are also considered as "phallic symbols", though some say it's just compensating for "shortcomings" like fast sports cars, and lots of bling.

With the continuing saga of the Californian Airsoft Community's campaign against Senate Bill 798, which was recently amended by State Senator Kevin De Leon that would leave the regulations up to the local governments in State of California, the Airsoft Safety Foundation found a big ally that would help in making the State Assembly think twice before approving the bill.

The proposed California SB798, which will leave the power of regulating replica firearms to local governments in the State, was supposed to go on its Third Reading in the State Assembly. However, it wasn't discussed as scheduled last 15 August due to more pressing proposed legislation and it's still in queue and may just be discussed on Monday, 23 August 2011. This gives more time for its opponents to gather more letters and petitions to Assembly members.

In airsoft we know a lot about the L96 as it is one of the favourite replicas used by airsoft snipers from around the world. But much less is known about the British company that made the famous rifle, as compared to some rifle makers in the United States which we see on the telly or read in arms magazines and news sites.
