Ever wished that you can deploy in airsoft games a mini camera drone used by special operations units to reconnoiter rooms and tight spots or use it for rescue operations? That drone in particular is called the Black Hornet Nano UAV and was previously reported to cost US$40,000.00 a pop.

Now, you can actually own something almost similar and it costs £100.00 via airsoft retailer Action Gear in the UK or US$75.00 if you order from AliExpress in China.

Called the RC Era C127 Sentry Drone and made in China, it is eerily similar to the look of the Black Hornet Nano UAV and we assume that it inspired the design of C127 Sentry Drone. As for the capabilities, the drone has a 720p camera that transmits to a smartphone, it does not have a thermal imaging capabilities of the Black Hornet Nano UAV. According to its manufacturer, the C127 Sentry Drone has the following features:

1. Aileronless design, the propeller is designed based on aerodynamic principles to provide strong power and self-stability of the body. Simple 4-channel design, ultra-stable flight with 6-axis gyroscope;
2. The remote control of the main seat, the feel is delicate, and the control is more accurate;
3. Barometer height, optical flow positioning, stable flight;
4. Modularized battery, intelligent power management system, power indicator, convenient and quick installation, effective protection of the battery, longer service life;
5. Stunt actions such as ascending, descending, forward, backward, left flying, right flying, left rotation, right rotation, route flight, and pot brushing;
6. 6G mode, using 6-axis gyroscope, stable flight, especially suitable for beginners to fly;
7. Low voltage alarm, locked rotor protection, runaway protection, large and small rudder volume conversion, one-key take-off, one-key landing and other functions; and
8. Equipped with a dedicated USB charger, fast and stable charging.

The design of the C127 Sentry Drone makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces as compared to drones with quad propellers. As to battery life, it is claimed to last about 15 minutes though we would caution owners to more conservative in its battery use. As to video transmission range, it is 100 to 200 meters depending on the environment.

The package includes two batteries, the radio remote controller, extra propellers and chargers. We have not tried it yet nor have found any videos of it in use in airsoft games online. It would be interesting how airsoft players would put it to good use.
