Baby Isabella Update

OptimusPrime

This is a quick update on the efforts to help and condition of Baby Isabella. While she is still in the hospital until the family eventually settle the bills, there are some activities going on to help raise the funds for her release. The baby is in better condition nowadays, but of course, she needs to go home. While she is still in the hospital, the bills are piling up, making it a vicious cycle for the parents who are in no condition to immediately pay for the bills.

Again, we issue our call for support from the airsoft players, and we thank all those who have given a helping hand in one way or the other.

Last update from her father:

The hospital's head for collections called for me and we talked yesterday (January 29) she basically asked me what the family is doing to pay our debts. I explained to her that we are waiting for some donations to pile up so we can pay them already. The more we stay in the hospital, the more our bill gets bigger. I am thinking of making a plea to the hospital and somehow let us go home by writing a promissory note. Normally, they would allow that if I am going to issue post dated checks and at least pay 80% of the bill and the other 20% is through a promissory note accompanied with post dated checks. I don't want to make a compromise and write them checks that I wont be able to fund and end up in jail instead.I really want to take Isabella home, it's been ridiculously too long already, it has become morally degrading as well. I really don't know what to do anymore. I am thinking of borrowing money from someone and hopefully find somebody who will actually lend me money with little interest.just to get Isabella home.If I cannot find someone who will lend me money, then my other option is to make a plea to the hospital to let us go by writing a promissory note without issuing post dated checks.

Here are pictures of Baby Isabella in her present condition:

The United Airsoft Alliance (UAA) and ACM Airsoft.com organised a benefit game last 26 January 2007 and Baby Isabella's father, John Paul Mirabueno, was able to attend and take pictures of the event. Around 50 players attended and were able to raise a total of Php 5,100.00 (USD 127.00). The family gives their heartfelt thanks to all members of UAA and ACMairsoft.com.

Some pictures taken at the event, just no in-game pictures available as Paul wasn't able to join them play.

Filforce.org in the US East Coast has announced a benefit raffle for Baby Isabella which will be held during Operation: White Star which is a unique AK  vs M16 Airsoft event being sponsored by Airsplat.com, Shooters Airsoft, MacFarlane Toys, and Evike.com. This will be held on the 2nd of February 2007, at Firebase X-Ray, Pittstown, New Jersey.  All registered players at OP:White Star will receive a complimentary raffle ticket as part of their ID band for the raffle. They're inviting all players at the game to purchase additional tickets for $5/ea. All proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Baby Isabella's family.

ACE Brigade also is looking into a fund-raising side activity during its upcoming "The Gathering Reloaded" that will be on the 15th March 2008 at the Longmoor Training Camp in the United Kingdom.

We hope those who will pick up the story here would like to organise with their airsoft teams/communities some benefit activity for Baby Isabella. A dollar here, a quid there, a euro more to help would go a long long way for her. If you have something to announce in this regard, please do get in touch with us so we can post your activity here.

Flathorlin Felix of Washington State, USA has also given through Paypal. Our many thanks to Flathorlin.

Let's bring her home.
