HAS Rules

Guidance for Newbies:

Welcome to HAS. This guide was developed to guide you on how to properly play this hobby; hopefully this will educate you even before you play your first airsoft game. It is important that you read this and understand the rules for you to have a great time.  Remember to respect the rules mandated by the game host/ game control to avoid any incidents. This hobby is an honesty based game so your participation to this concept is important to the games? successful outcome. Here are some of the things you WANT to know.

1. SAFETY (YOU)

1.1 Eye Protection: Whenever in the field always keep your eye protection on. If the need to clear your goggle arises, leave the field or the area where  engagement ongoing. You can also ask a buddy to provide cover as you clear you goggle; you must do this quick and instantly reengage your eye protection.

1.2 Face Protection: Full face mask is highly advised to protect you from being tagged in the face. ANSI rated goggles are also allowed but this is left at your discretion, getting hit in the face is risk that you will have to accept.

1.3 Wear the proper attire preferably a BDU. This is to minimize welts when hit in the extremities or torso. It will also protect your skin when you?re going thru thick brush. Wear the proper uniform as stated by game control or by the scenario.

1.4 Arrive on time and make sure to attend/ listen to that mornings? briefing. Here you?ll learn the days? objective and possibly additional instructions.

1.5 Make sure that your AEG complies with HAS? FPS limit. It?s your responsibility to know what they are and compliance to it is mandatory. Random chronoing is done and if you weapon is found to be hot, that weapon WILL NOT be fielded. You may find one that complies with the limit or you will NOT be allowed to play. Do not find ways to skirt around the FPS rules, you will be banned from playing with HAS.

1.6 RED RAGS also known as ?dead rags.? This signifies that you are out of it and shouldn?t be fired on. Place the red rag on a visible part of you such as your head or your neck. If red rag is not available, walk out of the fire zone with your rifle on top of your head. It would also be best that as you as walking out you are yelling "DEAD MAN WALKING OUT."

2. SAFETY (OTHERS)

2.1 Whenever your weapon is not in use, put it on SAFE. This is especially important during breaks, setting up or hanging around. Maintain muzzle discipline - keep muzzle pointed downwards when not engaging. Never point your weapon at anybody when not in play, even if it's not loaded.

2.2 Always aim at center mass. NEVER aim for the head or the face, this will eliminate if not minimize unneeded injuries.

2.3 Maintain a safe shooting distance. The minimum shooting distance is 10ft. any distance below that is unsafe therefore you should not pull the trigger. It is best to call parlay or surrender and re-establish contact after falling back to a safe distance. You can also choose to fall back yourself.

2.4 SURRENDER RULE - surrender when being surrendered; don?t argue. If you are the one surrendering somebody make sure that you have a positive surrender meaning that you totally have him covered and has no chance of escaping. Yell in a loud tone of voice "surrender", "bang - bang" or "you're dead." If you are the one being surrendered, do so. Do not attempt to engage to try to get out of it - surrender and regen if regeneration is an option. The bottom-line is - surrender.

2.5 IDENTIFICATION is very important. ID your target before firing at it. Identify if your target has a red rag or has his weapon on top of his head which signified that he is out. DON?T FIRE. Just like in real combat - you don?t shoot at everything that moves. Be smart - this will lessen unintentional injuries.

2.6 TEST FIRING. Find a spot where you know that there is nobody around. This is most important at the staging area where everybody is setting up and some may not have their goggles on. Find a spot away from the crowd and test fire your opposite of where the staging are is located.

2.7 FIRST AID. If you get injured or seen somebody injured yell for first aid. Normally there are individuals who have first aid kits with them. Consider having a kit for yourself handy.

GENERAL RULES:

1. Never tell the other person to "call their hit." This is such a distraction and is very annoying. Continue to fire on your target and if the other person still doesn't call hit - move on to another target. It may also be 1 of 2 things: 1. that your bbs don`t have the range and he is truly not getting hit or 2. he is totally not calling it. Don't get frustrated move on. Report this incident to game control and the person involved. Game moderators will take over from there and will talk to the person reported. The bottom-line is for you to just play the game.

2. Never curse at another person. There are times that your opponent may not play in accordance to the rules, don't curse for this may lead to more misunderstanding and the possibility of a fight. We condemn such actions, so no cursing at anyone.

3. Never be too aggressive. Aggressiveness is good if channeled in a good way - but if your aggressiveness leads to you playing in an unsafe manner, this will not be tolerated - you will be asked to tone t down or sit it out until you chill out. Always be cognizant of your safety and the safety of others.

4. Respect other players.

5. Read the scenario prior to arriving on the field. Moderators spent a good amount of time creating one so do them a favor and read it.

6. Arrive on the designated time. If tardiness is unavoidable look for the game moderator or the field secretary to check in and be briefed of the days rule.

7. Respect the field. Collect all your trash and take them with you at the conclusion of the game.

8. Introduce yourself to the game moderators if it?s your first time playing. This will give us an idea who you are and why you're there. You cannot bring another newb with you without notifying the host prior. Yes we want players but we encourage few good players instead of having a lot of bad players. (Bad players is in reference to the players ability to follow rules)

9. This is a military simulation game so simulate that and not paintball. Even Zombies die... so call it.

Final Thought:

We are all here basically to unwind and distress so if you're new to HAS and wants to participate in our activities, make sure that you are aware of the rules and more importantly apply them on game day. We're all friends here - brothers actually, so if you're coming to our house  - follow our rules and it's a guarantee that you?ll have a great time. Have fun  -  play safe and see you on the field.
