A pistol that has been around for a hundred years, the Colt M1911A1 is revered by its owners and foes alike and no other handgun in modern combat has such a profound impact. For those who see it, they give it respect, for those who wield it, an aura of power. Let's go back and go over once again the replica that Tokyo Marui has given its due attention and dedication which became an all-time favourite gas blowback pistol among airsoft players.
I have had the chance to review the Claw Gear Stalker TDU Combat uniform and I was very impressed not only with its looks but also with its functionality. Throughout my years in Airsoft, I have seen the sport or hobby evolve to a new level. A level where players actually try and get themselves immersed into the combat experience in as much realism as they could possibly do.
Being an airsoft combat photographer, or even an actual war photographer is one of life's ironies. You get shot at and you can just shoot back with your camera, not with a rifle. You get hit in airsoft, get killed in a war zone, and for the latter, the rewards are not money or a medal, but your photos being used in history books, which means that your work has been preserved for posterity. It is exhilarating, it is also fulfilling.
No, this is not the Sidewinder heat-seeking missile ready to blow-up your tailpipe. But this is one small, lightweight, compact, articulating, multi-function light made by Streamlight in response to a request from the US Military to provide a smaller and lighter version of their much appreciated, but larger Sidewinder C4 multi-function light.
I've tried the G&G SS80 and as you may have seen it posted in the picture threads but an AAC repro SCAR flash hider and supressor. Now I knew the AAC one wouldn't cycle but the G&G SS80 was purchased as it was advertised as "light weight". Let's just say that didn't work either and in the end the thread adapter got stuck so it became slightly useless.
Throughout the years that I have been involved in airsoft, I have witnessed the evolution of the game. From the time when I started not long ago when we were happy just to use small pyrotechnics with loud bangs to simulate grenades to now more high tech gas grenades which leave no place for your opponents to hide.
In my visit to the Philippines for the Holidays, one of the things at the top of my schedule is to eyeball the Cactus Hobbies Team, who have announced news about “new and improved” airsoft masks based on feedback from their customers from all over the world. As you may well know, Cactus Hobbies is the premier maker of airsoft masks and their masks have found many uses in airsoft and even outside of the sport.
When Vega Force Company (VFC) released its much anticipated KAC PDW airsoft gun, after some spurts and starts, it was a wet dream come true for many airsoft players. However, since the VFC KAC PDW costs more than the usual budget of regular airsoft players, it remained out of reach for many, save for the collectors who usually have some magic tricks in coming out with budgets to afford this.
There has been some confusion with regards to airsoft revolver as there's an existing one also made by Tanaka Works. The version of Marushin comes from the Maxi8 series and you can have a selection between ABS or the Heavyweight (HW) versions. So you may ask...why the hell am I reviewing an airsoft revolver which may not exactly go head to head against the modern gas blowback pistols with more ammo capacity in their magazines? Well, I had to ask that question to myself when I thought of doing an airsoft revolver review.
There's always a collective yawn whenever an airsoft gun is released in a line that's already been peppered with versions from too many manufacturers. We can always identify the following: M4s/M16s, AK47s, SIG5XX, and of course the MP5 line. But what we are about to tell you is something different from your usual MP5-inspired AEG, and this one's released by ICS last September 2010, with over a year of development, testing and refinements before it got released.
