Official Statement Of G&G Armament On The G960 Case In Taiwan

Logan

The airsoft industry and community got the shocking news last weekend over that many were in disbelief. As shared by various airsoft news sites and social media pages, G&G Armament CEO, James Liao (Liao Ying-hsi) was sentenced to two years and 8 months jail due to the case of the G&G G960 Airsoft Sniper Rifle.

The problem is, according to the Criminal Investigation Bureau, the product does not meet the requirements in order to be legal and this violating the Controlling Guns, Ammunitions and Knives Act. What G&G Armament disputes that it meets the regulations on toy guns by another government agency, the Ministry of Economic Affairs. However, the court sided with the Criminal Investigation Bureau ruling that both are two separate matters.

G&G Armament are appealing the sentence. Whilst they are working on overturning the conviction, Mr. Liao remains free and is back at the G&G HQ.

We’ll be monitoring this case as it progresses, below is the official statement issued by G&G after we contacted Charlie Suarez, G&G Marketing Manager if they have any update or statement on this:
