Hyperdouraku announced the winners of the Hyperdouraku Custom Guns Contest 2011 last 19 September. All of the custom guns have nice photos taken of them, and the winners of the various categories are shown at the winners page. However, one custom gun, albeit not a winner, has taken our attention. I am pretty much sure the "Aliens" movie fans would surely want this, as it's a working DIY M56 Smart Gun.
That's what the Association of Competitive Airsoft (ACA) wants you to do. If you're based in California, want to go into competitive airsoft games, then form your team to join in the planned 2012 season of ACA. The ACA will be holding a league in which teams, composed of 5 players, with team members at least 15 years of age, in a team versus team competition.
Good day to all Popular Airsoft readers! I did a short online interview with Ms. Bandit, a well-known Action Air Shooter, Milsimer and a Filipino entrepreneur based in Hong Kong. She is a member of OFAPS (Overseas Filipino Airsoft Practical Shooters) under PHASA (Philippine Airsoft Shooting Association) and the founder of G.I. Janes, an all-girl Filipino team based in Hong Kong.
Honor the Brave is a memorial charity airsoft event to honor the memory of our fellow airsofter Cpl. Josh "Scorch" Harton, who was killed in action last year in Faryab Province, Afghanistan. The event was organized by his father TJ of Pennsylvania Airsoft and held at ET Airsoft in Stanhope, NJ.
Injuries are always grave concerns in any extreme sport, and are accepted as part of any sport and we always go to great lengths to prevent or minimize such injuries through rules and protective equipment. We always take any report on airsoft injuries seriously, but we responsibly use proper data and information as reported by authorities and medical professionals.
We initially wrote a story about Revision's Batlksin Next Gen Helmet when it was a concept. Now, it's for real as the prototype helmet is now being shown to more people, mainly those who are into purchasing decisions for armed forces worldwide. It was on exhibit during the Defense & Security Equipment International (DSEi) 2011 that was held in ExCel, London, last 13-16 September 2011.
It's always such a headache being in the city, especially London, for an airsoft player. Airsoft skirmish sites are almost non-existent, or if there are some available, they don't stay long as they get evicted by the owner for other more profitable purposes such as new commercial or residential developments. So whenever we hear of an airsoft venue in the city, we try to check it out and make the most out of it.
In remembrance of the September 11, 2001 attacks at the World Trade Center in New York City, ESS have embarked on a 25% Back Program with their limited edition Remember 9.11 products. 25% of the sales from these series will be donated the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a charity organisation that is dedicated to building customised homes for severely wounded veterans.
They should be, as there have been many attempts by the Polish airsoft players to modify their existing AK AEGs into one that has any semblance to the newest assault rifle of the Polish Armed Forces. Łukasz Bonczol of Gunfire Poland sent in the news yesterday with some photos, but we decided to put it off and asked him more questions about the Ares Airsoft wz 96 Beryl AEG and have it written as a feature story for today.
Editor's Note: Moondog, together with New York City Airsoft and VOA decided to test out a new CQB arena that recently opened in New Jersey. With New Yorkers unable to play within their own city, they had to make a list of all airsoft skirmish sites that their players can readily go to. Stryker Airsoft can be an attractive venue for players from North East.
