Airsoft Gets A Cheaper iPhone 4/4s Case With Night Vision Adapter
We all have heard about the Apple iPhone 4/4s being given adapters to interoperate with night vision optics. The first company that came out with one is Black Heart International with their Smart Phone Night Vision Adapter that can work with the AN/PVS-14, AN/PVS-7, AN/PVS-15, AN/PVS-18, FLIR M24 & M18 with more to come. However, it's expensive since it costs US$199.00 when it was first announced. Right now, the pricing has been removed and interested customers will have to call them up for pricing.
My issue with the BHI adapter is that the smart phone is still exposed, as the lower part can be seen protruding out and the back of the iPhone 4/4s is covered in glass. Just imagine your iPhone being hit by BB in airsoft games?
Not to worry now as Hong Kong comes to the rescue. Our not-so-secret agents from Public Enemy have fed as information about the Kenny's Industry Night Vision Case for iPhone 4/4s and is right now available at Toy Soldier. Just like the BHI version, the case is also made up of T6061 aluminium and covers the whole back of the iPhone which should be more than adequate to protect the phone. It costs less than half of the BHI version at US$95.00.
Since it also has a night vision adapter, it can work with with AN/PVS-14/15/18 night vision monoculars.
And it can also be put on rifles if you have a gun-mounted night vision system.
For those who prefer looking through a "live view" night vision system rather than peering into the eyepieces of night vision optics, this option is very good. Furthermore, you get to record that night airsoft action with the iPhone 4/4s in high definition, though night vision will just give you few colours during playback. You can then directly upload your video to YouTube or Facebook, instantly reporting your game before you even get home to fire up a computer.
Kenny's Industry goes beyond one colour, as there are 9 colours to choose from, with the BHI version just available in black. At Toy Soldier, there are only two colours available for now: Matte Black and Metal.
So for airsoft players who have invested so much in a night vision system and would prefer a more reasonably priced iPhone 4/4s adapter, they check the Kenny's Industry iPhone 4/4s with Night Vision Adapter. Since the material used is the same as the BHI one, it can be readily used in an actual battlefield, helping operators save on budget.
Here's a video of the case with adapter in action. Thanks to Public Enemy for the full details.
